LIUX, the innovative Spanish electric vehicle startup, presented this Thursday the final prototype of its light urban vehicle, the LIUX GEKO, at the headquarters of OK Mobilityin Palma de Mallorca.

The prototype's presentation is part of the announced agreement whereby OK Mobility will purchase 5,000 units of the LIUX GEKO over the next three years. This partnership reinforces OK Mobility's commitment to LIUX, especially after OK Group, through its subsidiary OK Ventures, became the startup's lead investor last July.

The LIUX GEKO boasts a compact design and is made of sustainable materials such as flax fibre and recyclable resins. With a base range of 170 km - extendable up to 230 km - and an energy efficiency of over 13 km/kWh, this vehicle is designed to redefine 21st-century urban mobility.

As part of the presentation event, the final prototype of the vehicle was unveiled to the attendees, who had the opportunity to drive it and learn first-hand about its innovative technology. The event was also attended by Antoni Costa, Vice-President and Regional Minister of Economy, Finance and Innovation of the Government of the Balearic Islands.

Antonio Espinosa, CEO of LIUX, said: "This partnership enables us to secure a strong boost for the production of the LIUX GEKO, which will start in the second half of 2025 in Spain. The LIUX GEKO is a commitment to a new way of understanding urban mobility. Its innovative design, energy efficiency and use of sustainable materials make it a unique product on the market. With the GEKO, we are demonstrating that it is possible to combine cutting-edge technology with spectacular, environmentally friendly design".

For his part, Othman Ktiri, CEO of OK Mobility, has assured that: "This agreement goes beyond the mere provision of vehicles. It is about generating synergies that will enable us to face the new technological and sustainable challenges of mobility successfully. In this sense, we could not have chosen a better partner than LIUX, a 'Made in Spain' startup that represents everything we are passionate about: entrepreneurship, mobility and sustainability"."With the LIUX GEKO, a vehicle that fits perfectly into our mobility offering - rental, subscription and leasing - we are entering the urban and tourist micro-mobility sector", concludes Ktiri.
